hi

My name is Patrick and Im an alcoholic.I will admit this now.I am back drinking but unfortunately I came back with a vengance.Im drinking much more than I used to.I will begin my quit today. And I will be needing support from you people here, again.I was cut off from one bar last nite and escorted out of another.I walked(staggered) home falling in some wooded area when I stopped to **** and laid there about 1 hour, drunk as one can be.I did drive there and parked in a nearby store,on my walk there was 3 cop cars blocking it in and looking inside, suspicious vehicle i guess.I just walked right by like it was not even my car. When I got home my wife was rippin mad, thought I crashed her new car and hopped into my truck to go to the car and for some reason I jumped into the bed of the pick up(in my underwear),30 degrees outside, and rode to the car freezin my ass off. When we got there I fell about 5 feet right on my back while trying to get out.Car was ok and I rode inside with her home. She is soooo mad still.I did not blackout and remember the whole night although I wish I did blackout so I dont have to remember making an ass of myself.I am embarrassed, hungover, got a headache that wont quit, and wish I could fast-forward into sobriety. This SUCKS!!!!

Hang in there buddy, you are doing the right things by admiting a problem and looking for help. And IT DOES GET easier if you work it.

Call AA and get to a meeting. I needed a new focus and new way of life so I jumped into the deep end of AA starting with my 90 meetings in 90 days. That helped to break some old patterns and form new ones. And I got a spnsor.

You may need additioanl assistance. I myself went through treatment and AA and needed both. People are waiting to help you jast have to ask.

Welcome Back!

We're all in this together. Remember that we have a progressive disease, it gets worse and worse if we are drinking or not.

If you are an alcoholic, you cannot go back to safely drinking, see my tag line.

And if you are a real alcoholic, please don't take that first drink, that's the one that gets us drunk.

Be sober -- remember, keep coming back it works if you work it.

When you are sick and tired of being sick and tired....I think you will know what to do. get your butt to an AA meeting. Do what Wisconsin Al did, listen for the winners and do what they did. You never have to drink again in your life.

As you can see AA has helped many of us here to get sober. They can help you too.

Good luck to you on your decision to get sober but remember that a decision without action is useless.
