Hi all,
Hope today finds you well, I wish I was better. Since I was last here I have fallen off the wagon. And when I say fall off the wagon I mean fell face first hard... Been back to a pattern of drinking hard, feeling bad about it and looking forward to the next drink.

Time to regain control of my life and start living again, for my family and me. So today is day one again. I find renewed hope today, a motivation that I havent felt towards living clean in a long time.

I have decided to attend my first AA meeting this week. I am looking at Tuesday or Wednesday night. Any advice would be appreciated, I am very nervous.

Hi and welcome back to SR Attending AA is def. a great first step towards recovery, if that is what works for you. Just remember if for some reason, this doesn't click for you, there are SO many other meetings and it seems each one is different and not to get discouraged.
I wish you the best and keep posting because we DO care I'm sure others will have better, sound advice for you as the day goes on but I just wanted to let you know that I'm here reading your post and are in my thoughts!

We joined here about the same time, but I lost track of you.
I'm not in AA, but good advice above about trying different groups/meetings.

If you really were "beaten" you would not have come back! Every one here had to learn to walk again, sober.....one day at a time....all in a row, keep up the good work.
