Seize The Day
It's funny how we can often say those 3 words over and over....but suddenly one day those 3 words have a totally different meaning.
As a professional in the business world I use to say those words each morning and somehow, even though I had the best of intentions my ultimate focus was on seizing the day as it related to my performance at work, to being able to accomplish everything on my "to do" list.
But something shifted this past year, especially these past 6 months....I realized and faced the fact that I was an alcoholic. I had never told myself that before because my drinking never really interfered with my life. But about a year ago it became everything to me. I couldn't go one hour without thinking about that next drink.
Anyway, today "Seize The Day" takes on a whole new meaning in my life. It has truly become a saying that has allowed me to realize how very grateful I am to be sober and that it really is one day at a time. It's made me realize just how important every single day is, and it is a constant reminder that if I had not stopped drinking, I may not have had another day to "Seize."
I repeat this saying throughout the day and it has truly made a difference in my life.
So for all of you out there.....Seize The Day!
