It appears I am late to this thread..LaFemme..beautiful painting. I love that little girl! And it is fun to see what everyone is up to. I am still trying to land on a passion. I used to do macrame. I used to make candles. I even went thru a terrarium phase. But the truth is..my biggest hobby was getting hammered night after night. I think I would like to do photography. Will have to let you know how it turns out! Nice thread.
Thanks for the comments, though all glory goes to The Creator. Something else I've learned on this journey... Here's some more of His handiwork--so all you Disney and cartoon aficionados, doesn't this guy look like he's got a face and should speak in with a Scottish brogue?

I wrote and designed videos for a political humor blog I started. As our material made it into mainstream circulation, I wrote under a pseudonym to protect my day job. We ultimately began developing material for a politician who has run for President, and began to get interviewed by the political media.
All of this was reaching its most active state as I was in the worst part of my relapsing. I was working late nights trying to meet deadlines.
The day of my last drink, when I had my true first step experience, I made a decision to resign writing from the blog. It was something I never thought I would be able to do, but that day, it became easy. I knew that the agitation-- the edge required to write good satire, to be mean-spirited-- was not good for me. And that I needed the time for recovery.

I don't know how creative this is but I am designing a new garden in the back/side length of my house...it is currently a tangle of dead ivy and a few shrubs and lots of huge weeds and a couple of dead trees....I have someone do the heavy work for me but the planting and design of the landscaping is all mine....and I do it on the cheap....I rock hunt when I walk the dog, not huge 75 lb. boulders, but large round rocks I scavage to build a wall border....it's great physical exercise too and I am rewarded by enjoying it every day in the summer.
it is not creative this weekend, I have been hauling rocks, dirt and mulch the last 2 days to get ready, now I just have to find the perfect longhaired yellow cypress bush-tree....If I were to be drinking I just wouldn't care about the landscaping..unless I paid someone big bucks to do it for me....around here it would be about 5K.
obviously at 5'5" and 54 yo female I can't do everything I want done, but I get a lot of satisfaction out of what I can do and the design colors of flowers and exotics I am trying to grow this year (african fireball lillies and pink large grasses that should look like feather dusters).
