How long...
How long...
...did you all drink? I was on a 4 year course really. Started with beer, then to wine, then two bottles of wine a night, then two half pints of vodka a night or every other night...
...just curious is all.
...just curious is all.
Right around 15 years for me, started with beer in my early drinking career ended up with with whiskey diet pepsi as the poison of choice. At the end I was drinking at least a pint and 1/2 a night and then using wine during the day just to keep myself functioning. Damn I was a hot mess.

Hmmm...
from 14 to 48 I drank all types of alcohol ..off and on
without physical...legal or mental problems.
From 48 on I slid ..unaware...into active addiction resulting in a
diagnoses of situational depression. My doctor suggested I abstain
and that I connect to AA.
It was the best advice I've ever taken...
I so hope everyone finds the joy of recovery

25 years. Binge drinking on weekends when I was nine, more frequent drinking by 12, daily drinking in adulthood, sober (and thankfully, miraculously still alive) at 34.

Started off just on weekends during high school.
5 nights a week plus other stuff in college, and binging on weekends big time.
A couple of beers a night after that + binging through my 20's.
Vodka, gin, rum, wine through my 30's.
In the end I was drinking half a fifth of bourbon + a bottle or two of wine + pot every night.

Could be either. Binge drinking, for me, was not drinking everyday, mostly weekends, but drinking excessively when i did. I never recall, in all 27 years, ever knowing when enough was enough, when to stop. For the most part, i drank to passing out, or just really, really drunk.

I use to drink a pint of Vodka and a 12 pack of beer daily and various drugs. When the money ran out I would turn to rubbing alcohol, cooking sherry and mouthwash. I found it was easier to steal from the local market.
Hi GenJen-
About 15ish years (age 18 to 33).
I had drinks before turning 18, don't get me wrong, but it was around age 18 that alcohol did for me what I could not do for myself and my whole world changed and it was great for a while, but...
...at some point, though I don't really know when exactly, alcohol turned on me and I went downhill fast.
So grateful to be recovered and sober.

Weekly binge drinker (mostly on the weekends) for 20 years (from age 14-34). Then a daily drinker for nearly 10 years after that for a grand total of nearly 30 years.
More importantly, I've now been totally sober for nearly 2 years

Since I was 17. Thirty-seven years. Every day for over 30 years. Alcohol and illegal drugs in combination for 10 of those 30 years.
It boggles my mind just to see those numbers. I pray those numbers for "years I drank" stay in the past tense.
