Lightbulb I see that some of you are experiencing body aches.

I see that some of you are experiencing body aches.

Thank God it's just not me.

I went through yesterday thinking "Oh God! My drinking and smoking has caught up with me. It's (mouth/throat, pancreatic, lung) cancer, liver failure, heart disease. I don't want to die yet. I have a lot to look forward to. I don't want to lose an arm or leg (please remember I'm a diabetic). I won't be able to go on." Ears, back, lower torso, legs, jaws would randomly start to hurt. I would swirl my tounge around my mouth checking for lumps. I was just getting paranoid and started thinking the worst.

My mind was also playing tricks on me. It was saying "Come on. Your parents are at the grocery store and there's a liquor store right next to work. It'll be quick and you can sneak it into the house with ease." As I went the other way, my mind was like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? TURN BACK! TURN BACK!" Luckily I got home, and my parents got home so I could assure myself that I couldn't go back out. At the end of the day my mind was like "You've won this round, but I'll be back!" as if it were some comic book villain vowing to return and wreak havoc again.

I think quitting the second time around is going to be more difficult.

It's always a good idea to chekc with your doctor about
how best to de tox from alcohol.
and you do have another medical condition ..your Type 1 diabetes
to consider as well.

Have you discussed this situation with your parents yet?
You should not be doing this alone....

I think once you get a round of blood work-ups done along with LFT (liver function tests) you and your endocrinologist will have a clear picture as to how to manage your health.

JMO, that alcohol does not help with any inflammation you may have in your body....extended sobriety meant less aches and pains for me...(and i am much older)

Yes both of my parents are all to familar with my alcohol abuse. I talk to my mom about everything.

I think it's time to bite the bullet and tell my endocrinologist about my drinking habits. I go back this month.

Glad to know you will be checking with your doctor soon.

I was thinking more about your de toxing than your abuse
when I shared earlier.

Got any remedy for old creaky bones...Talk about aches and pains.

It took me over 20 years to get the first step...I hope your recovery lasts just as long.

~God bless~
