Triggers
Here's some current scientific understandings (vs layman opinionated views) about addiction: HBO: Addiction: Understanding Addiction: Addiction and the Brain: Stop! Go! A Rogue System in the Brain
A trigger will activate regions in the brain that turn on behaviors. For the addict that would be drug/alcohol seeking behaviors. Fortunately for me not everything under the sun is a trigger to use. Like working a recovery program, what hell it must be to be triggered to use alcohol when...lets say, praying to ones Higher Power. Just to think the very thing that could relieve one of the bondage of addiction becomes a compulsion to use...I must be madding.

Re: Triggers
I have so many triggers (too many to mention) that could try to interrupt my sobriety –for today. I do have and advocate, though, who puts all those doubts to shame –thank you Lord.
