The Dawn Of Day 30
Creeping into the first hours of my thirtieth day clean and sober, and I'm a bit shocked by just how good it feels to type that. There were some hard won days and enough true desperation and struggle in that mix to quiet the inner cynic who thinks this sort of pat-on-the-head thing hokey.
It seems that recovery's the sort of construct wherein the means might actually be the end, and therefore the significance of "goals" is inherently diminished... That said, it feels pretty stinking satisfying to hit this mark, so maybe I'll give the over thinking a rest just for today.
Anyhow, wanted to thank you all for helping me get this far - your collective & individual support, insight, and guidance have been invaluable. Onward to 60... and 90... and Beyond...

I want to congratulate you on your 30 days NC. I have so enjoyed your
posts on this forum. It is very clear to me how hard you have worked on your
recovery to obtain this milestone. Revel in the glory of it. IMHO it is glorious and quite an achievement. Onward we go!

Fabulous! I am on day four and every single minute is a challenge. Feeling good, feeling better is the best reward! As opposed to feeling incapacitated...I love your insight that "recovery's the sort of construct wherein the means might actually be the end." Now I understand when people in meetings with 22 years don't rest on their laurels but keep working the program.
Great job Nobel and yes it does feel good. Since I got into recovery......man everyday feels good. Not stellar or perfect but to have that hell I was in when I drank to be gone from my life. Yes.....I am grateful for the little things
Keep it going!
