yesterdays breaking point.

Again it was beautiful out, the sun was shining so bright that it actually gave me a sunburn while landscaping in some yard that we work in. I worked extra hard yesterday and on top of that, have a head cold. I was exhausted by the end of the day, (5:30) and all that I could think about was a nice tall glass of beer.
I thought about this for about twenty minutes and really fought with myself over the thought of having one. And then that thought turned into having a couple, and then it turned into setting a limit of "just three."
It's really funny what our minds do.

Today is day 13.

Great job!

They say urges come in the shape of a bell curve; slow to start, then build to a peak, then slowly subside. Knowing that helped me ride them out

Good for you not drinking that beer. Imagine a hangover, head cold, and working out in the bright sunshine. I couldn't think of a worse mix. Your mind will mess with you in early recovery. Dismiss those thoughts and continue doing what you are doing. It gets better!

Best Wishes to You!

Good for you for not giving in. For me each time I've not given in to 1 of those urges it empowered me and furthered my resolve to stay in recovery, hope it does the same for you

Tough day, too! a LOT of green beer being served up in my town for St. Patty's Day. Great job not giving in to the "cunning, baffling, and powerful" nature of alcohol!
