All that money and fame can't buy him happiness or peace of mind...

Not owning a TV and having little interest in celebrities, I just spent 20 minutes getting up to speed on TMZ.

phhttt. The Charlie Sheen story is neck and neck with news about Justin Bieber's latest haircut. And interests me about as much...so I agree with whoever said **** Charlie Sheen on the other thread.

What a silly, arrogant little drama queen he is.

I cannot relate to someone like him....who has so much and gives back so little. i did notice a drastic change in his appearance....he looks quite craptastic and seems to have a missing side tooth. WTF? see a dentist! you have enough $$ for an implant.

he seems to have quite a big mouth and desire to remain in the limelight. If he's got a specialized "home therapy" program it is not making him any wiser.

i am more impressed with Robert Downey jr. and Justin Beiber's hair.

Apparently, Justin's hair changed slightly and cost him 80,000 fans. I heard that on the radio last night in bed and am devastated.
Who the hell is this kid?

I hear his remarks. Perfect example of a dry drunk. He sounds pissed off and miserable, and claims that his success rate is 100%. For the past week or so, perhaps it has been, but who knows what will happen tomorrow? I don't wish this thing on anyone, and I don't think money or fame makes it any different, but i unless he makes some changes, he will be back to his old lifestyle in a week or two.

i think, maybe celebrities have it far worse with no privacy and an endless bank account. most of them have already "peaked" in life and getting sober for them is too easy.

most of them dodge consequences from the law time and time again, and everyone wants to dole out more and more chances until it costs them their lives.

they ought to have had Charlie state commited and detox the old fashioned way where he hallucinates, goes days and days with no sleep, vomits at the smell of food and shakes for 3 weeks. let the docs give him the blood pressure meds so he dosen't stroke, but no part of this should be comfortable for him.

too many people get medically detoxed far too comfortably these days and they don't remember or experience the pain of what this disease does to the body.

i used to medically detox so frequently, i got addicted to the meds, and it almost cost me my life. i'm not saying to do this on his own, but a more rigorous, medically supervised less comfortable detox should be the way to go.

You know who got their sh!t together? Roberty Downey Jr. it took a prision sentence to do it, but the man is brilliant beyond his measure now and knows he dosen't wanna revisit that past.

i hope Charlie gets it, i really do, but i doubt he will. he'll probably end up like all of the others we lost to this disease thinking they had one more chance.
F that.

Who knows Charlie S may be reading this or even he's a SR member. With that in mind I wish him all the best. Maybe someday he'll have an awakening to the fact, that for some drinking is no longer a viable option.

I was ROFLing - "I am an F-18 Bro !!" "AA is a Bootleg Cult"

Hahahahaha

I remember when I was first "offered" treatment, to save my job... Gosh, I wish I could have thought of some of those lines when I started "strafing" at those who were reaching out to me....

So, I am not laughing at him, I am laughing at myself...

actually they both have good hair....luckily RDjr. did not fall out.

Craptastic was borrowed from The Simpsons i think?

I am impressed by Craig Ferguson as well. Now he's a funny guy, in not a tragic way.

Re: Dear Charlie Sheen

We are special...without the alcohol of course.

Get Well Soon...........

p.s. A good twelve step program might help...just a suggestion though.

I just sit back and watch the 'unfolding' drama, just as I did with the David Hasselhoff one.

They are great reminders to me of the PROGRESSION of Alcoholism and where I do not want to go back to.

Love and hugs,

How quickly some of us forget our darkest hour.

I hope Charlie finds his way back and gets the help he needs.

WOW. I'm so glad to know that someone else thought that too ... "special". The terminology I use to describe myself in those dark days (now) is "terminally unique". Poor Charlie. Seriously, I hope he makes it. There's more than one way to get sober (and stay sober) and I hope he gives one of them a chance.
