Day 10 sober and I have had a headache everyday,I have been taking paracetamol but these headaches are still there only less intense and then strong again by morning . I also feel weak anyone else have this at the begining. Just venting I was hoping to feel better from not drinking not worse.

I had that problem too from around day 4 to day 20 or so. They were never really strong headaches but always there, no matter how much aspirin I took.

They peaked around day 12 though and eventually went away. Hang in there!

I had headaches too aussieblue.

I struggled through mostly, but I took ibuprofen when necessary.
Eventually they went away.

Check with your dr if you're concerned tho

Have you had your eyes checked recently?
Headaches can have so many causes...not all related
to drinking/sobriety.

Anytime pain happens...please consult with your doctor
and be honest about your recent situation.

...sorry this is happening to you

I had my eyes checked about a year ago. Also I see my doc. in 2 weeks so will fill him in I expect he will want blood tests done again as he is watching my liver count ,it was high before christmas and he wanted me to stop drinking then.

I am ashamed to say last night I got drunk ,it was my husbands bday and he had a party I have been dreading this all week because I didn't think I would be strong enough to not drink .I think from now on I am going to have to stay away from parties (a bit hard when it is your husband though) today I am hungover and disgusted in myself for being so weak. On the other hand I made it ten days this time( apart from the time I split my head) I have only ever made it 2 or 3 days. Back to square one.

I had them too for a couple weeks. In fact I gave up sugar two weeks ago and I have had a lowgrade headache off and on since then too.

I have been sober for 5 days now and have had headaches off on everyday. Nothing too bad. Also had some gastric distress too. You would think my intestines would be happy to not be soaked in alcohol, but they are letting me know they are going through sobriety pains too.I was very ill when I tried to detox for about 3 days and drank again for two days, but a lesser amount to end the misery. I have now been able to string together 5 days.

Sorry you stumbled a bit aussieblue, but congratulations on coming back right away.

Many of us faltered - I think it's important to look at why you decided it was ok, and to work out what you need to add to whatever you've been doing .

Just as a small example, a lot of us post here when we have parties or whatever coming up - it's much easier to get through events sober if you have support and make plans, I think

Well Ausie, the good news is that we learn more from our failures than anything else. True long-term sobriety IS available to u though. Keep searching and exploring as open-mindedly as u can
