Mysterious ways.....
So I've grown up hearing that phrase. " God works in mysterious ways ..... " And other's like " God never gives you more than you can handle....... "
The strange thing ... is that while I'm not very religious .... I do Believe in God and his power.
I do believe in events in our lives that we hate, get angry at , get depressed over, are there for a reason. Even if we don't understand the reasons at the time....They are there to teach us a lesson for future experiences......
The reason I wrote this today is because I've been looking for and trying to find a sponsor....

But wanted someone I trusted and who I could relate to... Today at lunch my favorite Chinese place in the valley had a sale and was packed..... I saw and recognized the man that lead the AA groups I first attended 8 years ago... I introduced myself and he gave me his card and meeting schedules that he attends... One being tonight. I am hoping ( God willing ) to be there and ask him if he is willing to sponsor me.
Everything happens for a reason ..... Even the seemingly bad **** has a purpose in our lives.

When these "odd" happenings occur..such as your unexpected meeting
I call them God Shots....I've had many ...they always work
out to my benefit ...not always as I expected tho....

Thank you Carol. Toay was astaounding for "God Shots". I've had several in my lifetime but I had forgotten a few until recently.
To be honest I haven't read your full link yet, but am doing so right now....
I think I found my sponsor... 10 years later ... in a Chinese restaurant... I took the step to ask if he's taking sponsees and he said he had some room ......

most do have variations give the two of you time to see how it works out.

Prior to me asking him to sponsor me ( after the small 5 person meeting ) He mentioned how glad he was that I came back and actually offered to go to meetings with me. We discussed in the group how Events played out when we least expected .... yet needed most...
I'm not sure how he operates as a sponsor , but I like the fact he's not afraid to say **** / DAMN/ HELL / @#$# / Daminitymother @#$#%# in a meeting......
