Hello Hendrix.

I guess im pretty much addicted to having a life of quality, waking every day and taking as much of it in as i can with a sober mind and healthy body.
On top o that i found myself to be quite partial to milk since a very young age. I really cant find the rite words to describe the way it tastes. Im not saying i want to come back as a cow or anything, its just top drawer for me.

Hmmm... when i used to watch TV, i remeber a documentry about a kid who was addicted to milk. I think he was about 9-10. Anyhow the poor kid died, and when they did the autopsy they found that he had the heart of 70 yr old guy!

I smoke myself, cigars too, and we know all too well what that does. But diet coke in excess i wouldn't know, pfff gas for starters, and a bathroom not far off :-/

Pistachio nuts..
Karamel Sutra.
I think that about covers it.

Addictions that I've broken: Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Benzodiazepines, and so far 2 weeks from my 1 year sober totally (alcohol is my demon this time) Gambling

I can still say that I am addicted to: Nicotine, Caffeine, Sex!, and Food!

I'm not TOO worried about the sex and food right now as I'm of healthy weight and my s/o happens to enjoy frequent sex as much as I do. :P But I have the same compulsive behavior for all of those things... some of those addictions have been much worse than others... but there is definitely merit to the idea of an "addictive personality".

Red face

I like to crunch on ice cubes throughout the day. It's really hard on my teeth. People hear me coming before they see me (crunch crunch) - I know it is insane but it's better than alcohol at this point.

So addicted to ice and ice cubes when I was pregnant.

I yearned those nasty slushy drinks made with ice.

I loved ices water with a straw so that I could stir the ice with the straw.

Still love my ice now

xx

I don't have an addictive personality. Rarely drink coffee. May have a caffeniated drink (diet soda) once a week or so. Very controlled with my eating. Hate cigarettes. Smoked for about a year when I was 20 and stopped without any problems. I exercise a lot (5 days a week), but nothing obsessive and I don't freak out if I don't have time to exercise. Not addicted to the internet or computer games. Unfortunately for my husband, I'm not addicted to sex. Just addicted to alcohol. Everyone says it's because I'm Irish.

I agree that there's merit to "addictive personality" stuff ... but I think that we in recovery already recognize that about ourselves, and personally, I think it goes along with the intelligence and perfectionism and obsessive-compulsive behavior that we're famous for. Currently, I'm addicted to a routine, and I get really pissy when something or somebody upsets it unless I remind myself that it's self-induced ... on a good side, though, my routine does keep me focused and more organized, so I guess it has a purpose?
By the way, chewing on ice constantly is a sign of anemia ... I learned this when I was a rabid ice-chewer, starting when I was pregnant and continuing for the next 20+ years ... might want to get it checked out with your doctor!

i thought i'd also add that it seems like addictive personalities are generally very good at whatever they try to do as long as it holds their interest.
