Jobs and me

I'm curious....we have been talking often about jobs....
am I the only person who thinks the spelling of job has anything
to do with the Biblical Job and his tribulations?...

I started working part time at 15 to supplement my high school allowance.
at 64 I left the work place due to my limited vision.

Sooo....I've had bad jobs...good jobs and ok jobs..some had problems
due to my drinking.......most did not.

I've been fired...layed off.....quit with and without notice..re hired
I went back to school for some....re trained for others
retturned to some I especially enjoyed. ....
.
All that to say....no one need stay stuck in anything
toxic.....and your job does not define you as a person.

Having read the Bible once in my life I would say the Book Of Job is a good chapter. I never thought of it as a job. An interesting observation. I also think most alcoholics can relate to Job. I can't count the number of times I asked, "God why me?"

Me too. All of the above
I tried to read Job once but I couldn't get through it. That guy had a really hard life but kept the faith.

What an interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing Carol.

Yes, I completely agree we are individuals not jobs. Our jobs do not define who we are on the inside rather the inside should determine how we perform at our jobs.

You are so right Carol!

For me putting a weight of importance on a job is definitely old behaviour and i want to stay as far as i can away from that as possible!

Yup, we've both "been there/done that" girlfriend, and I wish I knew back then what I know now!

Very true..
I am thankful for my job.. but sometimes it frazzles me, stresses me, and I think way too much about it.. and then I tell myself, "It's just a job", it's how I afford the rest of my wonderful life.. and try to re-ground myself and the perspective I need to have to get through my days.
