Other groups...
Hey,
Does anyone know of any public support groups for people with alcohol problems other than AA. For a variety of reasons I dont think AA is a match for me. Please dont take offense... It is a wonderful program which even saved my father. But after some research I dont think it is quite right for me.
It would still be nice to be able to talk to like minded individuals (in person weekly to get some outside support.
Anyone know where I would reach out and check for such groups?

Hi MyNewWay,
Check out the sticky Dee posted. If you have trouble finding one of those places near you, you might be surprised what AA options there are. I don't know what your concern with AA is -- for me, I have an anonymity concern and I'm not religious, and around these parts AA meetings are very Christian-oriented. But, if I drive forty minutes away, there's actually a secular/agnostic AA meeting in the city. So, you might be surprised what you can find if you poke around a little. (Again, I don't know what your reservations are, so I'm sorry if I'm assuming anything.)
