Just checking in
Just checking in
I first came to this forum 2 and a half years ago seeking advice about getting to a meeting because I was suffering major anxiety, and terrified to go to one.
Here's a link to my first post ever: http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...a-meeting.html
I realize that, because of the nature of addiction and the heartbreakingly huge recidivism rates, many people come and go on this forum. Much like people come and go in AA, and I would imagine other recovery programs though AA is the only one I personally have attended, so I can't speak from personal experience about others.
So, I just wanted to check in and say I've been sober for 2 years and 7 months today. And because of my sobriety, I've been able to live a life I never knew was possible.

Well done on your sober time!! I finally managed to get a year sober after trying and failing, over and over, for nearly two years. The last year has been the best ever and I feel better than I ever have.
Thanks for your message of hope.
