I think you do know. Drinking isn't a solution to anything. Drinking out of boredom...usually an excuse. There is always something else to do. When you are struggling with the notion should I drink, should I not drink...if you drink, you are going to feel bad about it. Moderation, for most of us, doesn't work and it is only a matter of time until we are off and running and that is when things happen, bad things.

The only way I changed my life was by making different choices, Bored.

Getting sober and staying that way is hard - but if it's too hard, maybe you need to look at what you're doing?
