I have been in recovery for 5 years almost although the last 18 mnths I have spent avoiding meetings,trying to be normal and fooling myself! Inevitably after many months a s a "dry drunk" and becoming sicker and sicker I picked up again the other week and drank for 7 days!!!!! Of course after the usual havoc I reek when drinking none of my family is speaking to me!!! and Im not sure what is happening between me n my husband what I do know is that God works in mysterious ways I needed to go back to AA and now because Ive taken that drink I have found my way back and am now living once again a day at a time! I dont know what the future holds but I do know that as long as I make my sobriety my number one priority everything else will fall in to place I am basically letting go and letting God and it is one hell of a relief I feel like I can breathe again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you're back the path to staying sober. However, when I drank, my family and friends had every reason to be angry with me. I may have a disease but I'm personally responsible for taking care of that disease. It was my choice to drink each day vs staying sober and it continues to be.
