Weekend One: Success...
I made it through my 1st weekend...
Oddly enough, I didn't crave the scotch. I thought about how it would be if I had it, but I didn't get the urge to go to the liquor store.
I hope this continues...

Congrats Master on your sober weekend! I too just had my first sober weekend in many years.
I credit this site for helping me through it and look forward to many sober weekends to come.
Hang in there - we can do this!

Congrats as well...
My "thing" was downing a 5th of scotch & playing Xbox 360 all night.
This weekend I just played the 360... Call of Duty: Black Ops rules!
I have a stack of games that I beat while drunk... I barely remember the missions in them. How stupid is that?

It's day 6 for me and the longest I've been without a drink in over 20 years! Congrats, and let's keep up the good work!
I play games as well, preffering the PC variety, like Borderlands, Team Fortress 2, Dawn of War, Warcraft 3 and World of Goo. Funny but they are not nearly as interesting sober for me!
2 games that are more fun sober are IL-2 Sturmovik 1946, and X-Plane. Both are very complex flight simulators.

But I love the Call of Duty games, as well as the 007 games... I like the variety of missions and the sometimes stealth approach to getting the enemy.
I guess I'll re-play the ones I barely remember beating...
Wow...imagine how well you will do sober!
I have so many books I read while drinking...I don't think I could tell you a synopsis of them...they were just a way to pass the time instead of staring into my cup. I read "escapist" books while drinking...not long after quitting I lost interest in them and have started reading stuff that's a little meatier.
