i'm back
i'm back
i first came here a little more than a year ago. stuck around for a couple months and went back to drinking.
i am here today on day 30 of not drinking. i joined aa and am working on the steps. i collected my white chip on day 14 when i said, yep, i wanna quit drinking. today i look forward to picking up another chip.
my problems haven't gone away, but i have a better chance of succeeding in dealing with them now.
so, hello again! glad to be back

Welcome back, skid! AA, a sponsor, actively working those steps, attending meetings, and working with others has been/still is the solution for me.
You're correct in that our problems don't necessarily go away, but we are much better equipped to deal with them in recovery!

Welcome back!! and congrats!
I remember when I first relapsed and my sponsor took me to a meeting, I was **** hammered and I even shared on how the program works before I got cut off by a "Welcome back, thanks for sharing." lol I felt so guilty and embarrased that it led me to another few months of being dry without the program, and I eventually came around and realized there is no point in giving up on a program that did work well for me... The only problem I had with it the first and second go round was that I just wasn't working it 100%.
