One moment at a time

Last night, something came to me. As I sat with my bowl of popcorn and old Miami Vice episode I was watching (wasnt that a great show by the way??), I thought - how nice this sober moment is right now. Here I am, on a Saturday night, so content in this moment. And I realized that its just like that - one moment of sobriety after another. Okay, maybe they will not always be so content or fun, but they are still one sober moment after another. And these are the moments that shape the rest of my/our lives. I thought it was pretty cool. Just stringing together these sober moments. Guess that is what they mean by one day at a time.

Great post! Sobriety has been the same for me: those little moments where things feel right are something I rarely had while drinking. I always liked that AA used the word "serenity" because that's really what it is.

Congrats on getting to that place!

I had what I called those "lightbulb" moments several times when I first got sober. How exciting it was! I realized then how much I loved sobriety. Enjoy them as they come.

Funny thing is Kablume is that I have been sober almost a year! I'll take it now and forever!

Yes....I can relate. I wake up many Saturday and Sunday mornings thinking how great my previous night's sobriety was.

I see you've got a one year birthday coming up. Keep up the good work.
