Happy, joyous, and free!
Happy, joyous, and free!
I never thought it would be possible for me to actually be happy, joyous, and free, but now that I am, I wouldn't give it up for anything. My sobriety is my most important priority because without it I would be depressed, miserable, and in a prison of my own making.
I feel like I've been released from Hell and every day is a new adventure. Just being alive, awake, and fully aware is more than I ever dreamed possible.
Living sober really rocks! Just feeling wonderful today (and every day) and wanted to share.

Oh how I agree! I am still young in my recovery -- just over 5 months -- but in the past few weeks, something has shifted. I have been glad to be free of the hell of alcohol for the entire time, but in the past few weeks, I have begun to feel truly happy and joyous. No matter what problems I face, I face them positively, head on and without a drink in my hand.
Thanks for the thread!!!!!

Perfect!
I feel so much better off with this sober thing too. Even on days when life isn't a bowl of cherries at least I know I'm not making things worse by using. Good days are better and bad days are better too.
