I don't have a problem, personally, with eating foods prepared with alcohol. I don't cook with it, myself, because I don't want to keep bottles in the house.

"Tasting" a drink would be a problem for me. Using mouthwash made with alcohol is not.

It's a personal thing. Food made with alcohol does not make me want to drink. Neither does using mouthwash. I've never felt like drinking as a result of either one, and it doesn't mess with my head. "Tasting" a drink WOULD mess with my head, even though the quantity would not trigger a craving.

And for those people uncomfortable with the idea of consuming alcohol in any form, or having it in their mouths (some is absorbed through the mouth), I strongly urge them not to do it. In fact, I think that if you have any doubts about it, you're better off avoiding it. Some people have traced relapses to them, and why take chances?
