Hey Pink - Everyone on here is right and I agree with them. I haven't been on SR a lot lately, so I don't know your background story or how hard you are or are not trying to get sober.

One thing that leaps out at me from this thread is the thought that your hormones may be messing with your mind - depression, anxiety or maybe just some good ole fashioned pregnancy induced mood swings - all that could intensify your cravings.

I guess what I'm saying is - I do feel for you - I remember out of control thoughts during my own pregnancies, but the only person who can help you with the drinking and any other issues that may be going on is your doctor.

GO NOW AND TELL EVERYTHING. Baby's life and health depend on it. You can do that much, surely.

Not much else we can say PFF. Every time you post a new thread you get the same responses. You know what you are doing is wrong and you know how to stop. Not it is action time. We also know how hard it is to stop, which is why we are all here to help each other. Check yourself into a lock up facility if you have to. You need to be willing to do whatever it takes to get and stay sober for you and your baby. And as concerned as I am for your baby now during pregnancy, I am even MORE concerned for you and your baby after it is born. You have been trying to drink less for nine months and I am afraid that when that child is born you will try and make up for lost time. I know that if I were to pick up again right now there wouldn't be enough alcohol in this town to satisfy my craving. They say even when we stop drinking and get in recovery our addiction never stops growing.

Nobody here is going to tell you that your efforts are good enough. ANY is too much, especially while pregnant. I pray you find the help you need.

Pink....
Let's go another way......let's say your child is born healthy
and strong.....that is what we all hope for you....

Ok....now you have not only your 14 months old
but a brand new life
both who are going to need a sober Mom....to protect
and guide them ...to provide food and shelter
to be alert for dangers and emergencies....
You need to be strong and healthy too.

I also had my children young...3 by the time I was 22.
I understand how difficult it is...staying in with small
ones.....Heck....you are on duty....24/7.

Get yourself to AA....find a group with other young
parents who are sober. That will give you
not only a local support system but you
will learn how to cope with life sans alcohol.

You might also consider not having more children
until you are sober. Ask your doctor about
what birth control method is best for you.

I spent this morning counseling my oldest
and he is a Grand Father...
I can absolutely tell you a Mom is a forever deal.
He would not be interested in anything I say
if I were still drinking....
