Long time reader, first time posting.
I drank an 18 pack of beer for the last 8 years every night and today is day 2 of not drinking. No insurance so detox centers is out of the question unfortunately but I saw a doctor and he gave me Klonopin for withdrawls and it seems to help. No sleep last night though, and some sweats but nothing brutal yet. Wish me luck.
You'll be seeing me around here as I have gotten a lot of information by reading people's posts and this site is a big reason why I stopped (hopefully forever), let alone for me and my family.
Tough economic times, alcoholism, reminds me of Bill W's book which I should have paid attention to more when I attempted this before.
I'll keep in tough and whoever created this site rocks!
