Withdrawl - Tingling in Face
Hi,
I have been sober now for 2 weeks. In the mornings I wake up after a good nights sleeep but feel almost as if I have a hangover. My face feeels kind of prickly, and I have a headache too. My skin is generally getting abit better but I still have kins and needeles on my skin and an itchy feeling.
I also feel very tired the whole time, much more tired than when I was drinking.
Does anyone know whats going on, or when I will start to feel like a normal person again?
Many thanks,
Dell

Dell....sorry to know you are having problems...
I don't know either....but I agree with Dee
And while you are at the doctors....have your eyes checked.
You may find you need glasses or if you wear them
a change of lens. That could cause headaches.

Thanks
Thanks for your messages. I had this when I was drinking, just put it down to the booze.
As the skin is the largest organ of excretion, I will give it another couple of weeks, then see the doc.
After 2 weeks, now not missing drink at all, very strange. The first few days were hell though.
The only way is up!

that sounds alot like alcoholic neuropathy to me. i had it early on in sobriety and it does go away. but it takes awhile. the prickly, "pins and needles" feeling is very common for the condition, and the itchy feeling accompaning it could be another symptom of it or a symptom of mild alcohol withdrawal...sometimes, it can be quite common to have symptoms of withdrawal a good 2 weeks after your last drink if you drank for many years.
the brain fog in the morning will also go away. i had that for the first month or so, almost on a daily basis.
hang in there, it WILL get better and better.
all my symptoms improved greatly after about a month.

The best you'll get is a lot of guesses Dell.
There could be any number of reasons for the symptoms you describe.
I hope you'll see a doctor if it continues to worry you.

I didn't have the tingly feeling Del but my headaches and fatigue were quite bad between weeks 2-3. They went away shortly after. At day 35, I have some minor fatigue but it just might be from over exertion because I feel so damn good from not drinking. Hang in there.
