Last chance.
Am starting on "refusal" tomorrow.
( Makes you violently ill if you drink.)
And am going to a "selfhelp group"
Looks like my drinking days are over. (after 30 years.)
Either this or lose everything and live on the street and be dead in 3 years.
Looking forward to clean life !
Hope you are all well..

Good for you. When what we have been doing doesn't work, it's time to try something different. I hope this helps get you over the hump and that you learn some good coping skills in your self-help group. Hang in there. This is a good thing you are doing for yourself.

I am very new here, haven't posted or responded until now, but wanted to tell you I will be thinking of you. I remember very well the level of frustration & desperation that would make taking a drug of that type the only solution.
You can do this. I drank (among other ways to escape reality) for 33 years. And while I have only 4 months sober... those 4 months are precious to me because I hadn't gone more than 10 days since I was 13 years old. (Excepting the 9 months I was pregnant when my body simply wouldn't allow it in there anyway; apparently it was making its own 'Refusal' antidote to alcohol.)
Please post again & update everyone.
