*Inebriated* post, warning.

I have been drinking for a few days. Am I any less happy or unhappy? No. But I have a broken table- or rather, someone else does... because I am clumsy. I downloaded a bunch of the "SMART Recovery" worksheets. Keep trying, right? Hope you all had a great holiday and all.

I broke a table once too sleepie - I was lucky it wasn't my back, or my neck.
Too many close shaves.

I hope you get something out of the worksheets.

sleepie sorry to hear your back to drinking, but glad to see your still here and thinking about quitting.

If I remember from a post a week or two ago, you had said you had been going to meetings and had a sponsor correct? Have you talked to your sponser in the past few days? and have you and her started the steps yet at all?

Glad to hear from you Sleepie...hang in there.

your story popped a memory bubble for me. i broke an antique table when i was probably 18.

then various chairs, doors, quite a few walls and one sliding glass door.

i remember having to pay over $2,000 in damages to one apartment i was in before i met my wife because my buddies thought it would be funny to see if i could throw myself through a wall into the next room after a half a gallon of fine irish whiskey.

poor walls. :rotfxko

anyway, be careful and i'm glad you're ok.

Sleepie!

Do not concentrate yourself too much. It abuses yourself. Try perspective thought! See what anything good! Do not concentrate bad thing! Life changes depends on your thought. Although you are only one, you are also one of everyone.

Sleepie, you do not loose the most important things for sobriety. To have a help out side yourself. When we quit drink we need to reach out outside help, SR, doctors, AA and SMART and so on. We are with you.

Sleepie - I'm glad you posted.

I went from smashing things like tables to smashing cars. Obviously, very, very dangerous, but I coudn't stop drinking. I smashed my truck with a dui, then 10 months later I did the same exact thing, another smashed car...another dui.

I was scared, but I coudn't stop drinking, even though I wanted to.

It took A LOT of action on my part to break the cycle. Maybe this is true with you?

Are you going to drink today? If not, what's your plan?

Thanks all, I had a really good talk with my counselor today. I am employing a new method (SMART Recovery). I have 2 sweet doggies at my home today! I love animals and this and a bit of reading will make a very pleasant evening. I think I got it all out of my system. I wouldn't advise it, but inebriation can open one up to new perspectives. So I learned something. Now, I just have to run with it.

Good for you sleepieGlad to hear you have a plan. You can do it just hang in there and get the first few days out of the way and then you'll be on the path you want.
