Sorry I have to brag!
Sorry I have to brag!
I'm a few days from 5 months sober, but even more to me than that...I have to share this....Today(wed) I am 1 week SMOKE FREE!!!!!
Never thought I could do it but I have! Just had to share that because that means so much to me. As much as my sobriety does!!!

that's awsome. GOOD JOB
i quit 3 years ago, and i don't think it was nearly as hard as quitting booze.
the first month is the hardest. if you can weather that, you should be home free.
you should go do something nice for yourself. healthy rewards are always good motivators.

Brag away!!!
I found quiting smoking almost as rewarding as being sober. I found the smoke quit harder than sobriety for the first few days but easier to maintain.
It's funny how a sober life leads one to self improve in other ways.
Well done!!

Yep cold turkey this time. I've tried to quit many..MANY times before and the other times I tried the "patch" a nicotine inhaler, smokeless cigarettes, and cutting down..but none of it ever worked.
This time I did it cold turkey. Mainly because my best friend was taken to the hospital with a heart attack recently (he's only 54yrs old) and when that happened I decided that I did not want that to be me in that position 10-15 yrs from now so I put them down and haven't really even thought about picking them back up. Still have those little thoughts about smoking but like everything else within a minute or two they go away.

That is absolutely WONDERFUL! Just keep in mind you are a NON-SMOKER.
I am approaching my first year smoke free. I quit about one month after I quit drinking. I tried quitting without quitting drinking and that didn't work. I tried the e-cigarette and that did nothing but change the delivery method for my addiction.
Cold turkey is the ONLY way to go. I actually enjoyed the process of ridding my body of the poison. I quit in September, 2009 and I rarely even think about cigarettes.
You are about to experience wonderful things.

You are well on your way. I quit smoking 11 months ago and it's not even on the radar screen. With me.. after two weeks it was pretty much smooth sailing. Now the drinking part..that's only been two days
