One year sober !
None of you know of me but I know many of your plights as I have been frequenting this haven for...well pretty much a year now...standing at the back of the room..
As of June 1st 2009 it has been a year since I had my last drink of alcohol. Not ONE sip ! Gosh I feel so good.
I persisted through it on my own and did not attend any meetings, drugs or other techniques but did listen mostly every night to podcasts from AA speakers on my iphone with headphones in bed before sleep and watched many events from the A&A Intervention series
And in addition as of Jan 1st I began a diet also..talk about demanding self-efficacy. To date I've lost 35 pounds with 10 more to go..20% of my total pre-diet mass.
Following that my next focus shall be on a humanitarian nature..a fundraiser of sorts for a local children's hospital..I think..
I feel I owe..and have a debt to repay..
Best of luck to you all...be strong..I shall check back in the future...God Bless

Congratulations on the one year !
That's a real milestone , and I think it's great about you changing up your food lifestyle . Diet and fitness are so important in my recovery work . After reading Sugar Blues, I realized I had to overhaul my crappy diet. Giving myself 90 days until I hop on a scale, ....no reason to start obsessing over something as natural , as getting back to my "natural " weight. Lo
I think you're headed in the right direction , with your new altruistic plans !

Great to hear you got a year. That is awesome. Diet is very important and ignored I think by too many people in recovery. I don't have weight issues but I know I feel way better when I eat right... Best of luck with your future plans
