Be careful, be safe, lots of checkpoints in my area and I'm sure in others.
Please do not drink and drive!

Thanks Redroad...me, I am visiting parents, with old friends and around people who I used to drink with. There is wine in my Mom's fridge. But I already told her that I quit drinking and she's proud of me. I plan to eat good food, drink smoothies and lemonade, jog. I am praying extra this weekend for my HP to take my cravings and temptations away. Memorial Day - why not remember all the stupid s**t I have done whilst inebriated?! Perfect way to stay sober.

Thanks for the thread!

Soph

Funny, I never have an added craving as a result of a special occasion. My craving is always on, 24/7/356. That said, I will certainly continue to try and avoid temptation no matter what. I remember when I quit back in December 2007 how foolish I was to believe Alcohol cravings would go away like my nicotine cravings did.

I still think about beer everyday, sad but true. I will nonetheless represent for SR and abstain as it is far better to be able to come here with my head high knowing I still have not drank.

Here's to a great and sober Memorial Day to all of you.

Thanks RedRoad, I believe I'll make a meeting, tell some lies about the fish I've caught, shake a newcomers hand, and thank God. I'm not the man I outa be, I'm not the man I wanna be, but for the Grace of God I'm not the man I used to be.

Hey Tallcactus, I'm new to this computer AA stuff, but I got a question. My brother just got parolled from ASP Douglas and he's going to a halfway house/clean and sober house in Tuscon. Got any good ideas on meetings in that area so when he calls I'll hook him up?

Lots and lots of meeting here, can find several each hour.
Many good ones at the airport area.

I love checkpoints now! Funny how not drinking put a real dent in my rap sheet.

Yea, same here, have no problem with them now, but when I was drinKing/driving they would scare me to death. Heart would pound, mouth would become dry and I would take the side road to avoid them.

This weekend is a tempting one for sure, I like the post. So far I have felt pretty good about withstanding. Today went mountain biking and tommarow just enjoying my day off with no hangover!
