I'm getting better!

Still have "issues" lol....but I'm getting better and better day by day, and here's how I know. Today is my Mom's 66 B day. Normally the past 10 yrs I forget her B day, or just bring her a little gift a few days late. This year....today I took her out to dinner, and gave her a 7" portable DVD player as a gift. You should have seen her face! She played with it for over and hour tonight lol.

Makes me feel good to know now how I shock my family these days!

I really kind'a like this sober stuff

Steve

Thanks Dee. Another thing ( I have to tell them lol)...I NEVER give cards to anyone. Even back before my drinking I never gave cards, just felt it was a waste of money. But tonight I bought my mom a nice Hallmark card with her DVD player....I swear she liked the card better than the DVD player lol. Made me really feel great man to see how happy I made her tonight. I couldn't have done that if I was drinking.

Steve, I meant to ask how the fishing trip went? Did you exclude the drinking elder out of it or did you grin and bear it?

I can relate, on Saturday I went to my nephews highschool graduation and was the first one there with card in hand. On his 16th B-day I drank so much the night before that I missed his party. My family was so dissapointed. If feels amazing making every birthday party & holiday these days.

Great post. I'm the same. I keep discovering little stuff, almost all good, that I lost track of along the way.
