The Big Book refers to this as "a spiritual malady." For me, all the things I tried came up empty. The only way I feel that kind of power is when I hook up with the God of my understanding.
That one was the biggie ^^^^. I also found it helpful to quit listening to the "treatment center" folks spouting off how "they're powerless" and that "they're powerless over over people, places and things." They're not, I'm not and you're not.
