Thanks to these forums, and my total realization that I wanted to actually try living before I died, I've made it to 10 months.

I've, never, ever been sober for more than a couple of weeks in 18 years or so.

Now, I can say that my life has become one that entails steady improvement each day.

I still have days when I want to throw in the towel, or feel that the pressure's too great to continue living, but overall, where I am, is sooo much more than where I was.

For anyone trying to decide whether or not to give sobriety a whirl, I can offer this tidbit of wisdom: In my own experience, I'm finally getting the chance to find out who I am.
