75 days!

Haven't been keeping real close count on the days but I knew I was getting close to 90 so I added it up and today is exactly 75 days for me

The first month was pretty rough, had lot's of urges and thoughts of drinking that's for sure. But about 35-40 days in it really changed for me when I started seeing just how much smoother my everything in my life was going.

The past month or so now I won't say is easy, but those white knuckle urges & thoughts are no longer with me. Any thoughts I have now are just simple thoughts that last maybe 5-10 seconds and are gone as quick as they come on. I feel better this past month than I have felt in years! Even my family has noticed that now that I'm sober I'm not only not drinking but I'm just a much nicer person to be around.

75 days is just the beginning I know that, but I wanted to say thanks to everyone here for helping me to get to the point I am at now.

Steve

Thanks for the support everyone. Whats worked for me is a mix of AA and Celebrate Recovery meetings and this website here. Very grateful to have so much support both at meetings as well as people like Capt2000, yeahgr8, Carol and trucker. You guys I just mentioned might not know it but I get a lot of help from the replies you guys make to everyone.

Least.. if you would have asked me about 5 weeks ago I would have said no lol. But now, yeah it does. My routine now is to get up in the morning about 8-9am and go for about a 1/2 mile walk to start my day. I never could have done that when I was drinking, so yeah, it does rock pretty cool!

Way to go Steve! Walking without a hangover is great, isn't it?

Congrats! 72 days here myself. I have tried to quit many times, but I have never felt as good about it as I do this time around. I hope you're feeling as good as I do right now.
