Day 54!!

Hi everyone!! I'm new to the board and just wanted to introduce myself!! Today marks 54 days without a drink!! just never thought I could make it this far..I had been drinking since I was around 13, I'm 38 now..the last 10 years of my drinking career have been heavy..been involved in abusive relationships,lost opportunites,car accidents, loss of jobs,and the shame of a DUI...which finally compelled me to get sober and stay real. So for the first time, I am handling life..on lifes terms..not my way..and it's not easy, I'm just accepting that it's the only way I can do it... and it feels so good waking up and not being hungover, enjoying the sun in my window and hearing the birds sing, not dreading it!! (or just going to bed) I'm looking forward to many more days and nights of sober living!!

Congratulations on your 54 days. That's quite an accomplishment! And isn't it great experiencing life sober?????
