GG.....I just noticed your location
I spent years there... drinking and sober.
It's my favorite place to live....

Lot's of good solid AA in D.C.
My first home group was Attitude & Actions...in Georgetown.

I could bus from my apartment ..14th and N NW... and catch
a meeting before work. I've always liked to begin my day with AA.
They also met 7 days....another bonus

I suggest you call a travel agency for sober vacation info.
I worked in one in Friendship Heights briefly don't
recall the name. They could find anything for anyone!

Gritgirl, I'm in nearby Alexandria and go to grad school at GWU. If you ever want to hit a meeting in Alexandria for a change of pace, give a holler. Georgetown, as Carol mentioned, does have great meetings, too. I'm in DC three days a week.

I have almost four years, and am always eager to meet and share ES&H with newbies. The stronger my sense of community, the better.

(Hi, Intention. I'm on this thread, too!)

i'm very lucky. i work downtown and there is a meeting every day at lunch at the church right next door (Metropolitan AME). And I head out to Virginia for a women's meeting on Saturday mornings. i get to a meeting everyday and i am just grateful they are there.

nice to meet you all. vivai, i might take you up on that. always trying to meet more sober folks in the area.
