78 Hours and almost through detox
Well you guys asked for an update:
I am still doing pretty good.......4th day at rehab and detox and 78 hours since my last drink.
The place I am attending is actually pretty good. Very nice people, nice facility and good therapists.
I went to my first AA meetings and actually enjoyed them (other than the constant reading of the rules at the start of each meeting.....why do they always do that)? I found the stories helpful and the people very friendly.
I start group therapy tomorrow if I am feeling ok. My blood pressure is kind of high but the doctor said that was normal during detox. I had no withdraw until tonight when I got really queasy after dinner and a bit shaky. I am taking anti-withdraw meds so as soon as I took it I felt fine. I am also sleeping pretty good.
I want to say thanks to everyone on the board who encouraged me to take this step. I probably would not be here if I did not find this website.
New Year's Eve will always be my "birthday" so I guess it will be easy to remember.
If anyone wants more info on the treatment center I chose feel free to email me.
