Because of your choice of user name....
my guess is that you are using AA

Fred

my drinking was as insane as the jaywalker mentioned in the bigbook, no matter what pain or injury befell me, I kept on doing it. No rhyme or reason, but I kept doing it even though it was killing me. To most this behavior would seem insane, and it was. No longer a slave to alcohol I find myself a free man today w/ a HP in my life that I trust and who loves me. He saved me from myself, adn has allowed me to grow and become a useful member of society again, as opposed to a ward of the state.

Today I have the love of my children and the respect of my peers, and I try to be of maximum service to my fellow man.

I am also bless to be able to see and feel the presence of my HP working in my life, whereas before I used to resent his existence.

Recovery can happen if we are willing to suit up and show up each day, and be ( remain ) humble enough to take " suggestions "

P.s I am loving these forums, lots of good stuff in here, and a vibrant community w/ genuine concern and care for others who are also afflicted
