I understand it's fearful, but after all the things you listed, you still 'think I might' need to go? But I get it. It's very common to have reservations and fear. It's really tough to be defeated entirely. Necessary, but tough.
Maybe an alternative idea is to call up your local AA hotline. The advantage is that usually you can meet someone there who can shepard you through that meeting, recommend others, and get you started on the steps. I've found this to be a much more effective start for new guys than just showing up at a meeting. At least in my area, the folks answering the hotline phone tend to be involved and know the solution for alcoholism. You cut through some of the BS this way.
