I'm 21 years old and have struggled with alcohol since I was 16. I had my first experience with alcohol at 12, began drinking weekly at 16, and started drinking daily/every other day by the time I was 17.
When I reached the legal drinking age, I "binged" less but started drinking nearly every day (10-12 beers per sitting). Although partying seems to dominate college life, most students I know only drink occasionally; the media, in my opinion, exaggerates the use of alcohol on college campuses.
Anyway, I'm 12 days sober, although I've quit numerous times before.
