Some of you may remember....
Hello SR friends! Some of you may remember me joining SR and saying no more to alcohol on my birthday (Oct 5th) under the thread topic " A Birthday gift to myself "
Well here it is a month later and I am doing just fine. Not any urge to drink and most of my sense's have returned to normal, sleep, anxiety, etc has passed. Remember folks that I gave up my job of 20 years to get sober and save my life and family. Now I have a new job working for a company that has been around since 1918, and most of you men out there have worn their clothing, lol. Keep in mind I gave up a whole lot,but I gained so much at the same time. It was a sacrifice I had to make to become sober and get my life back. Not everything is perfect and never will be,but I'm so happy that Drinking is no part of my life now.
My son and his football team "The Jaguars" won today in the Championship game,so next Saturday is the Super Bowl!! This is his last year to play in the league that he has played in for 5 years and he is going to the "Big Dance."
Now what more could a sober Dad ask for? If they don't win the game and I lost my job tomorrow! I would still look at myself in the mirror and say to myself that it was all worth it to become Alcohol free and would still keep my head up to face another sober day!
Thanks everyone here at SR for the support during the darkest days of my life.
May God Bless all of you!
Ron
