Sober in a Snow Storm

Chilling out here in my house in northern Colorado. The first large snow storm of the year is passing through. This is the first snow storm in years that I didn't have to go out and pack up on numerous twelve packs to weather the storm. I don't need alcohol anymore. I love the AA program and I think I will like this website!

Stay sober my friends.

This makes me think about all the people that had to go through the shakes and hallucinations during Katrina. I wonder what percentage of New Orleans residents were very bitter that they couldn't get their fix.

I am going to have some quality time with my family!

One of my favorite things to do in heavy snow is just stand outside and listen to the quiet. It's so insulated and quiet it's amazing. Living in NH, we get plenty of them. Enjoy the storm!

Hey neighbor! I'm in Highlands Ranch, we've measured about 16 inches so far.

I remember stocking up on alcohol during storms, weekends, holidays..

Kinda nice just to enjoy the moment, huh?

I'm in Laramie! It looks like we have about 8 inches or so right now. I just moved here from Tennessee though so I think half an inch is a lot! It's amazing how much clearer and simpler things are when I'm not drinking. I can appreciate things that I would have never even given a second thought to while drinking.

I am in Fort Collins. We maybe have 6 to 8 inches right now. You guys down south get a lot more snow sometimes. Stay warm.

Yeah, I missed a lot when I was drinking. I didn't know it then but I can see it now. Laramie is a nice town. Have a nice night.

Well, I live in Fort Worth, Texas. We just had a big cold front blow through too... I think it's like 50 degrees outside!!! burrrrr! I can't even remember the last time I saw snow here. I don't think we got any last year. The year before I think it snowed an inch or two overnight, but then it melted by mid-day. Sometimes the water freezes on the roads and there's ice everywhere... they cancel school when that happens.

I remember that. I'm from Dallas and they'd cancel with just a tiny bit of ice. There was a small bridge that we used to sled down using cafeteria trays when it closed. Good times.

Funny thing is, they did the exact same thing here in Cambridge last year. We got like three inches of snow and everything was cancelled - school, work, trains - guess the Brits aren't used to the snow anymore or something.

Some places in my town are reporting 60cm of snow fall. It is more like 30cm at my house. I have flown over England several times but have never set foot there. Someday I will go there!

Make sure you take a trip into Wales too. There's a welcome in the valleys

hi Caleb!

welcome!

I've got something for you - living here in Montana, I know what you're talking about -

i always save the movie "the day after' for the first big snowfallof the season .... heehee.

It's so much better a movie with 3-d special effects! LOL

16" here on the East side of Monument, but it looks like its finally stopped. Haven't left the house except to shovel since Tuesday evening. Certainly makes it easy to stay sober when there's no booze in the house and the weather is like this.
