Bout to flip my lid!!!

Hi people! Many of you have read my post and have been so helpful. Going on two weeks sober and have had a real hard time. I don't crave anything about drinking but I'm so miserable with the long term affects of quiting. Anxiety thru the roof,Can't sleep, fatigue, don't want to eat, cold, Hot, back and forth, ears ringing like hell, whats that about? Everyday it's something different and today had the fire ants sensation in my arms and legs and real nice Headache. Someone tell me that there is light around the corner. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

Thanks for listening to me complain. This sucks bad!

Ron

Can you call him about your distress?
I know nothing about anxiety disorders or Xanax

Perhaps doing some light excercise?
Dance around the room or walk.

Try a warm bath or shower ...that relaxes me.

You did some serious abuse to your body in all the years you drank. It's gonna take a while for your body to recover. And after two weeks you're probably still going through withdrawal. As Carol suggested, get with your doctor about changing your dosages. And be sure he knows what's going on with the drinking etc. It'll get better over time, but each person reacts differently so how much time it'll take is anybody's guess. Just remember, you put a hurt on your body and now it's payback time. As I went through all the same misery, the one consoling thought I had was that as bad as it is, it's bettter than drinking.

Hey yeah stay in touch with your doc... a bit of LIGHT exercise might help a lot. But its totally normal to feel that way. There is hope, I'm on day 146 and I can't believe how good I feel. It was rough for a while though...

You spent a million years and a million dollars on drinking so its going to take some time for your body to adjust in the weeks after you stopped drinking like a baby. It always gets better. It takes time and its so worth it!

Have you noticed that extra pressure in your wallet yet? Even that gets better.

i know what your going thru , i had the ringing in my ears, HATED IT!!! also had buzzing in my head, feeling dizzy, creepy-crawly feeling on my neck and arms, i used to break a few plates to release some stress, (when no-one was about obviously) thought the withdrawal symptoms would never pass but they did, hang in there

I used the Xanax over the years to quiet the shakes and mental anguish from coming down from drinking, so I am going to venture a guess, that coming off Drinking and Xanax is going to be different than just quitting drinking. I am at 1month and can hardly get out of bed on the weekends.!! we got to just hang in there.!!!

Physical symptoms.... been there for sure. In my case they went away at 11 and 15 days (different sobering up times) or so, although by that I mean the all-day-every-day-cannot-ignore-this kind. Some would still pop up all the way to the 20th day, for an hour or two say--especially if I was stressed.

And that was just off of whiskey. Have no clue 'bout Xanax, but I'm in agreement with all who say it'll probably be much different. Maybe check with Substance Abuse Forum, for sure check with a doctor.

Hang in there,
TB

Yes I think people are decieved that if they quit drinking, everything will be ok and they will feel great. Each person is different and everyone will have a different reaction to giving up drinking. I just wanna feel have normal again so I can move on with my life.

Thanks all,

Ron
