AA 2 doors down from 24hour fitness
I have to say I've always been kind of a gym and fitness nut even if I didn't practice it nearly as much as I wanted to.
I recently (thursday) started going back to AA (previously i went to 3 meetings a year ago and thought I was CURED!, .... haha, NOT).
I was pleased to find out that this new place is located 3 doors down from a 24 hour fitness.
I was thinking today that I currently think about AA, the same way I think about going to the gym. I never want to drag my butt there.
After I get there, I'm happy for the rest of the day that I went, and on the days I don't go, I'm excited about going back.
It's just always the "getting my butt there" that I always have to force myself to do.
This is going to be great being able to kill two birds with one stone!
Did my first double today, AM meeting followed by cardio. All AA's should be around the corner from a gym.
I'm gonna make sure to get some work in at the gym every time I go, man I'm gonna be in good shape after my 90 days/ 90 meetings! 87 more to go.
Meeting and the gym... Man, I'm gonna have a great day today

Great start.
Are you going to get a sponsor and work the steps?
Let me use an analogy.
Going to the Gym is like going to meetings. I.e. a great way to get started.
Working the steps is like hitting the iron and and riding the ex.bike .

Thanks guys, sounds alot like what my temp sponsor said to me last year.
Last year, when I went to aa 3 times in 2 weeks I got a great guy to be my temp, at the end of the 2 weeks when I was telling him how good things were going "after he was telling me to go to more meetings" and that I was back in the gym he said "well it's not going to be very worth while to be in good shape in an early coffin" he was right.
I parted ways thinking I was "cured" uh huh.
It was a little tough tracking him down after a year but I found him and I'm going to be asking him to be my sponsor for good this time. and I'm definately going to be going through the steps.
I went to 3 meetings in 2 weeks last time. I've been to 3 in 3 days this time and another one tomorrow morning at 9:30AM
I did not take it seriously before, but I will this time, no questions. No questions AA is my #1 Priority now, over the Gym, or any other "nice to have" commitments.

Centered & balanced to me means:
Physically relaxed
Emotionally calm
Mentally focused
Spiritually aware
Please keep in mind, I was not able to find this by just going to meetings. Meetings are good, but only one part of the answer.
