Drugs online

So i am an alcoholic, everyday i have 6-8 beers 16oz cans and i always get anxiety if i dont drink. I went to see a doctor and she didn't prescribe anything for withdrawals, she just prescribed trazadone for sleep. She told me i needed to go to st vincents a detox place. I called them but they requier a 2 thousand dollar deposit, i also called a different place and they charge 1500 a day. I realize that i cant afford any of them so i did some reading online and i find that there are many websites where you can buy a withdrawal medicine called diazepam, for around 100 dollars. Do you know anything about these sites?

I would stay away from those sites the meds are often counterfeit or they may just scam you and take you money and send nothing, even if you happen to weed through all of that and find a site that sends you the actual diazempam being your own doctor isn't the best idea you will likely just get addicted to the pills and keep ordering not stop drinking etc.. 6-8 beers really isn't that much even if its everyday you shouldn't have to much major withdrawal symptoms maybe some irritability for a few days and insomnia Im not a doctor and you shouldn't take my advice but I would say you would be safe going cold turkey at home with those amounts just tough it out no need for any meds that is if you have a determination to quit, even with the meds quiting isn't fun or easy.

Do not use those kinds of sights! Alcohol withdrawal can be very dangerous and so can mismanagement of the meds prescribed for it. I don't know if you will have bad withdrawal or not but just in case it is good to see a Dr. You could just go to the emergency room or a clinic. You should not have to check yourself into a detox place to get the medication, there is nothing wrong with telling the Dr. that your pocketbook won't allow that. Self-prescribing drugs you know nothing about is not a good start to your recovery. Good luck.

I don't know where you live, but many counties have free or low-cost facilities for detox. It might not be a pleasant environment, but detox isn't a pleasant experience...

And what ^ ^ all said about the medications.

You do not have to check into a facility to detox. In my case I was prescribed anti-seizure and high BP meds but then again I drank a fifth of whiskey daily. 8 beers is probably not enough to worry about major W/D symptoms but if you start having any - particularly muscle spasms which can precede a stroke - go to the ER immediately.

I second what everyone else says. You don't want to do this without the supervision of a doctor. Also I think diazapam is a controlled substance is some states— you don't want to mess with that stuff and just order it over the internet. And it is a generic drug so a doctor can prescribe it to you and you can buy it in the pharmacy for $5 w/o insurance...

Jesse... what are your desires?

Are you possibly seeking an 'easy' detox.. or... are you looking for an alcohol substitute?

My own ES&H suggests you are on dangerous ground with diazapam or any 'online' drugs you may prescribe for yourself.

The good people of AA surely have some guidance for you, seek it.

Keep coming back.

is really really a bad idea.
The drugs may be more dangerous than your de tox
depending on a lot of varibles you don't know about.

I think your doctor would have given you a script
for anything needed to keep you safe.
Certainly the price you quoted is way too high
for the med. As mentioned....you don't know
where they come from or how strong or what
dosage would be correct for you. Very dangerous.

You can go to an ER if you get scared during de tox.
You could go to the Salvation Army in your area
most have short tern free de tox.

Have you ever de toxed before? Do you take other
meds ...legal or illegal? Your weight...general health
your history of abuse......all factors to be considered
by a medical professional before decideing on meds

Welcome to SR.....

Diazepam is Valium. I echo what everyone else said already.

I detoxed with 2 days of meds to prevent seizures and an order to rest and drink plenty of fluids. I drank a fifth of vodka a day at least.

I have to wonder too, (thanks tommyk) what the intention is with the meds? Quitting alcohol just to start another addictive and likely uneccessary substance seems counterproductive.

Please only go by the advice of doctors. I'd hate to see you here down the road with a possible new addiction to online scripts that are at most illegal, and at least unsafe if not under the orders of a doctor.

I spent years self-medicating myself with booze and other drugs.

Even if you don't get scammed, buying drugs off the internet without the supervision of a doctor seems exactly the same thing to me - only even more dangerous, if that's possible.

If you're dissatisfied with your Dr, pls see another one. Do look into what Carol suggested re the Salvation Army as well

I was on Librium to prevent seizures and I cannot remember for high BP. Librium is widely considered "safer" than valium for this use. I also took it for 3 days only. Once I got to where I could take on some food I was out of the danger zone.

This was just my experience. You should do what your Dr says to do, if you are uncomfortable try to see an addiction specialist.
