In pain again
In pain again
Hey there,
I have been sober now for a week and day, and thought I had got through the physical side of withdrawal, but last night I was sweating loads, and this morning I woke with a headache which felt like the one I had last week. Is this normal, and will it stop? I wasn't expecting to feel sick again.

Hang in there, blef.
I know that my anxiety got really bad and sometimes headaches would come out of nowhere.
One time after I detoxed I had brain fog for a good 6 weeks.
Keep on keeping on...it does get better.

It took me awhile for all systems to stabilize...many alcoholics have blood sugar regulation issues for a time...I had headaches and mysterious aches and pains a lot. Took a nap almost every day.
Incentive not to drink again, eh?

Thanks guys.
I am diabetic and my blood sugar has been up and down like a yo-yo since I stopped drinking. I am not sleeping good, and have been having to have a nap (even though I am trying not to because I am worried that is affecting my night-time sleep). I feel so emotional today too.

It definitely took me more than a week to get back to normal. I guess it differs all around. My first detox took the longest to feel normal. I remember not feeling well for almost a month. Sadly I drank again after that.
Good job staying the course.

Please see your doctor and be honest about your drinking
patterns. Alcohol can mask other physical problems
that pop up when we stop drinking.
A simple blood panel screening can inform your doctor
and also assist you with anything needed.
