Different meetings

So I'm actually at my inlaws in Austin right now (my hometown ) before we head out to the lake, and I went to a meeting here yesterday. It was a good meeting, I wasn't uncomfortable and the people were welcoming and friendly. Even though I've only been in AA for 21 days, I still missed my group in Houston. As much as I appreciate the availability of meetings everywhere, and I'm anxious to get back to my home group.

The people in meetings in Austin are your AA 'in-laws'...

Always good to get back to your home group AA family though.

Good for you attending a different meeting!

I miss Austin. I lived there in the early 80s and LOVED it. It's way over crowded now though.

Hi Littlebluedog,
Congrats on your sobriety and you decision to use a recovery program! One of the really great things about AA is that meetings and the fellowship are available everywhere. Hope you are enjoying your vacation, you deserve it!!!
