So... How many of you early in your sobriety said to yourself: "Boy, did I pick a bad week to quit drinking!!!"?
*raises hand*
The last week has been week from hell. On the bright side I have a much firmer belief in my HP because I could not have survived this week sober alone.

I wished I didn't quit drinking in the midst of a financial crisis. Anything to numb those worries away.
After a few weeks I realised the worries (anxiety) were a side effect of the drinking, and that the financial crisis isn't that bad after all.
So to answer your question, sort of yeah, but not really

Not sure, there's a wrong day to quit when, you've got a drinking problem!

Heh... well, I really meant it in a lighthearted way... I know life goes on and I must deal with things in their reality instead of numbing myself. Just Murphy's law how stressful this week has been and it's taken everything I had plus extra from above to make all the right choices this past weekend.
Or. . .you could try looking at it as a sign you were meant to quit, to help you get through it right and learn what lessons were being shown.
My BIL lost his oldest step son a week ago in a motorcycle accident. He is 3 months sober, and is thanking God for putting him on the path of sobriety in time for him to be able to help his loved ones through this crisis, and to learn the lessons grief has to offer this time around without the oblivion.
Sorry to kill the humor you were going for!! Just some food for thought.

...So true.
I've decided, after having never wanted to before, that i want to quit smoking. My doctor gave me this advice: 'Don't quit while there is stress in your life'.
What he didn't tell me was when exactly a life is not stressful lol.
So for months now I've been 'preparing'. Hell, I've been preparing so long the stresses stopping me from quitting have been replaced by new ones already.
When it came to gear it was a bit different though. I smoke cigarettes to get through stress. I pinned gear to avoid stress.
When I'm stressed now, i don't think 'man, I picked a bad time to get clean'. Instead, I think 'thank hell I'm sober enough to deal with this stuff'.
...Still smoking cigarettes though lol.
