I went to AA
Yay! I went to a womens AA meeting tonight. I met a really nice woman that is my sponsor now. I am going to call her tomorrow. I felt really comfortable with her and she is a mom like me so we can relate well. I came home and my mom is drinking wine and I see the bottle in the kitchen,...ugh! I know Im not going to drink, but i just feel anxious inside. I haven't yet told my mom I went to AA (I live with my mom and son), I guess I just feel weird telling her I am quitting drinking. My mom is the type that never drinks too much, she has the normal 2 glasses of wine MAYBE 3 at a wedding or something. I think I need to tell her so she can help me and keep me strong. Ughh I just feel kinda overwhelmed

Nicole, that's good you enjoyed the meeting, plus a double bonus you got a sponsor.
Your mom probably would love to hear you went to AA. And knowing that maybe she wouldn't drink in front of you.
Keep posting and going to meetings.

Glad to hear about your positive AA experience. I'm going to my first meeting myself most likely Thursday.
Truth is I'm a little nervous about it as I don't really know what to expect, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to stay clean.

Satyricon-good Im happy for you. Even if you dont fit in at the first meeting just go to a different one next day, until you find one you are comfortable with. I like mostof the meetings I have attended except the one tonight, it wasnt bad just kinda of dragged and was really small and mostly elderly men..nothing wrong with that, just didnt feel like I fit in. I have been feeling a lil more anxious lately, but Im happy Im sober.
